: : The technology behind DWA Digital Brochures : :

DWA Digital Brochures patented technology is based on a unique single downloadable and self-executing file that does not require a separate reader.

DWA Digital Brochures has developed the first functional software that can create "real" 3-D desktop versions of everyday products.

To date, DWA Digital Brochures has created over 500 different interfaces. The interface can look like any traditional printed matter including a catalog, circular, newsletter, brochure, flyer, pamphlet, paper book, magazine or any other traditionally printed matter with a real 3-dimensional feel. In addition the software can build desktop coupons, calendars, vouchers, photo albums, and postcards. The software can take any shape or form, can incorporate full color pictures, video, 360 degree panoramic views, sound, moving pictures, animation, special effects,
and e-commerce functionality.

The imagination and nature of target customers Internet access (bandwidth) are the only restrictions on the breadth of our product range.

: : Software Specifications : :
There are two main architecture elements for the DWA Digital Brochures offering:

The DWA Digital Brochures Client
The proprietary patented DWA Digital Brochures software platform is coded in ANSI C++ language and compiled into a Win32 application protocol interface (API). This provides DWA Digital Brochures with a stable and reliable application with a small file size due to the low level nature of the language. The core engine of the software - the .exe - is less than 100kb in size, before any content has been included. The installation package has powerful compression that allows content to be compressed to the maximum levels, thus making the products smaller than any competing technology. The application itself is serviced by and utilizes the DWA Digital Brochures web services.

DWA Digital Brochures Web Services
The DWA Digital Brochures web services application provides the serving and data interchange functionality with the DWA Digital Brochures client. It is implemented using the Microsoft IIS server and Microsoft SQL server as a base platform, and developed in a standard COM architecture, isolating presentation layer and business logic.

Other specifications include:

• Operational Format: Windows application with a Macintosh application in development.

• User Specification: Applications can run on any computer with 16MB Ram or more on Windows 95 and above.

• Screen Size: The size of the e-book has been designed as marginally smaller than a screen size of 640 X 480 High Color (16 bit), considered as the standard size for the majority of screen resolution settings. At this size the media will be viewable on every screen setting format.

• Pixelation: Maximum resolution of 72ppi. The e-books can support: JPG, BMP and non-animating GIF files.

• Animation: GIF animations & animated bitmaps, Flash files & .AVI are supported, as are 360o user controlled rotational vews.

• Page Borders: The standard border size is a 9-pixel border between the image and text and the edge of the page.

• Sound Files: Wav and MP3 files can be included within the application.

• Hyperlinks: There are no constraints with the number or type of Hyperlinks contained within the technology

• Search Engine: A search window box can be included and linked to a pre-existing search engine allowing a search function to any website for information, brand awareness or e-commerce.

• Online Ordering: Digital catalogs or circulars can facilitate online ordering. Users can browse the digital catalog offline, read
product attributes, & add to the shopping cart, then with one click the entire order is uploaded to the online checkout.

• Charts & Spreadsheets: Excel spreadsheets and charts can be integrated to be included within the pages of the digital publication, or be launched from that publication.

• Tracking: Built in targeted measurement and tracking devices for advertisers and the creative team.

Security
DWA Digital Brochures utilizes the highest-level internationally accepted 256kb Rijndael encryption. The technology is controlled by one "Ini" file, which is encrypted using 256 bit Rijndael, the new NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) (AES) Advanced Encryption Standard for high encryption. Rijndael is a block cipher, with a variable block length and key length. Data is unencrypted and decompressed into memory, and only when it is being used. This information is discarded as soon as it is no longer required; therefore have minimal content available for memory cracking. In terms of security for any content in the documents, all resources including text, images and audio files are compressed into a single packed .ebk format. This is a proprietary format developed by DWA Digital Brochures.

Troubleshooting.
The information below is a result of vigorous testing in which we have identified some of the problems likely to occur. If you are unable to find a solution below, please email: support@directwebadv.com , and you will be assisted within 24 hours.

Instructions for downloading and installing:
Click on the link supplied, and this will begin the download of the product. A " File download" box will appear, asking you whether you would like to " Open", "Save", "Cancel" or " More Info". Selecting "Open" will run the file from it's current location, "Save" will save the file to a specified location on your hard drive. It is advisable to select " Save"- and you will then get a " Save As" Dialog box. Select the location on your hard drive preferred for downloading, the " desktop" is recommended. Do not change the name of the file, and click on " Save". A download progress box will appear indicating the details of the download process. There is an option on this box, to " "Close this dialog box when download completes" - make sure that is unchecked. When the download is complete, you can select " Open" or "Open folder", or " Close". It is best to select "Open" and the installation will initiate. After this process, the file will open itself and appear on your screen, or a " Loader" will appear and continue to load the entire file. Once the loader has completed loading the file, it will appear on the screen.

Problem:
I am clicking on the download link to download a product and nothing is happening.

Solution:
* Check you are connected to the internet, and that your network, or connection is not down. * Check with your system administrator to find out whether your network firewall will allow the file type through. We distribute two file types, a EBK file, and and EXE file. The ebk file has been specifically developed to allow it to get through firewalls, as it is not uncommon for an EXE file to be blocked on corporate networks. If this is the case, you should contact your representative for a solution.

Problem:
I am able to download the product but once it is downloaded it disappears.

Solution:
* On some operating systems there is an option to close the download dialog box after the download is complete. If you have this option selected then the file will download to the specified location and close the dialog box- seemingly disappearing. The solution it to open the folder where the file was originally downloaded and search for the file there. When it is located, double-click the file and it should then initialize an install.

Problem:
I am getting the file, double-clicking it and then nothing happens.

Solution:
* Try download it again. If the file still does not open, then there may be a version conflict, which requires you to clear your machine of a previous version. Go through the following procedure:

Remove all traces of the current software.

a) Go to Start-> program files-> e-catalog and select the file name of the file you have just downloaded and select the " Uninstall" option.
b) Go to " Add/ remove " programs, and remove the file here as well if it still appears here.
c) Go to Start-> program files-> e-catalog-. and right click on the file name of the program, and select delete.
d) Go to c: program files\e-catalog and look in that folder for any traces of the file, and remove them by deleting.
e) Go to c: program files\ebkrdr\mini-catalogs and clear that folder, also look in c: program files\ebkrdr and delete any files pertaining to the program.
f) Go to your desktop and delete and shortcuts or any files that have anything to do with the file you are attempting to get.
g) Go to Start-> Run and type in "regedit" and in the box that opens find the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WOTCH and delete this key. ( warning: do not delete or alter any other objects in the Registry, as this may cause major problems)
h) Restart your computer- your system should now be clear of any components relating to this file. You can now attempt to download and run again.

Problem:
I have tried all the above and the program still will not work.

Solution:
Due to the variety of operating systems and network settings, it is almost impossible to accommodate all possibilities. The best thing to do is to send an email to support@digitaldm.com with the following information.

* Name of the file you are trying to download, and the link you are using.
* Your operating System ( Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP etc...)
* Your browser type ( Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator) and version ( Info available under the " Help--> about" Tab of your browser menu.)
* If you are on a corporate network, any details you can provide and especially whether there is a firewall.
